Driving north on Grand Loop Road
Time for a little hike to Tower Falls
This is the photo everyone has of Tower Falls. It's OK, but sort a standard waterfall photo.
A bit more interesting, but hard to make exciting in this light
The flowers and insect were much more interesting hiking down to the Yellowstone River (Goldenrod, possibly Canada Goldenrod, Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, USA)
Flies and bees very busy in the goldenrod flowers
A random moth out in the daylight.
Bee making an approach on the goldenrod.
Small wasp feeding on goldenrod
Seven spot ladybug cruising goldenrod flowers
Getting a look at the face of a seven spot ladybug
Photo confirming that this is a seven spot ladybug
Getting a bit closer to the seven spot ladybug
Now we can see the bug part of the seven spot ladybug!
Head of the ladybug tucked back into the black pronotum. (Seven spotted ladybug searching for food on goldenrod blooms, near Tower Falls, Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, USA.)
A small wasp coming in for a landing on goldenrod

The same seven spotted ladybug continuing its search for food.
A small bee fighting its way through the goldenrod blooms.
Small bee with hairs on rear legs and body carrying pollen.
Small wasp feeding on goldenrod blooms, not carrying as much pollen as the bee.
The busy ladybug has come to the end of the line
A quick turn around, and back to more exploring
How many dead ends does the ladybug hit each day?
Another dead end, and another 180 degree turn.
I believe this is a hoverfly, feeding on the goldenrod.

Some lovely pine cones! Choose the biggest one! (Near Tower Falls, Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, USA.)
