We parked near the turn off for Svínafellsjökull, not knowing what was there
It's not a long way away, so let's take a look!
It's not this glacier, but the next one to the west.
We are headed to the glacier on the right in the distance.
The road is good for any type of car.
One lane bridges are common in Iceland
A nice looking scarf!
Getting a bundled up a bit since it is gently raining.
It is an unforgiving country: the weather can change quickly, the ice can shift.
A brown lagoon at the foot of the glacier
The dirt is embedded in the ice, with the different layers looking like sandstone.
The ice in the foreground are pretty similar to the mountains in the background!
Looking to the south, downstream, towards the coast.
Dirty ice, no clear ice in this glacier.
Well, some clean ice further up the glacier.
Interesting chunks of stone in and on the ice.
Dwarf willow starting to bud at the end of April.
The moss is starting to bloom as well.
When the moss really blooms, this will be a carpet of purple!
