Heading over to the big barn and sheep yard
The sheep were very curious, wondering what I was doing
They are half-sheared, presumably because it is still cold at the end of April
THe sheepdogs came to see what was going on.
Great bounds and leaps! Managed to get him in focus with the 500mm combo on my monopod.
Clearly the sheep were not used to photographers with monopods!
More half-sheared sheep!
"What's that guy still doing here?"
Interesting dark faces.
Horses in the field beyond the yard, very active in the spring!
Horse in contemplation, possibly about being brought to water...
Our host's husband came back to the house, and the sheepdogs bounded over to him.
They are all looking forward to breakfast!
The horses weren't used to photographers with monopods either!
The proverbial black sheep
"Is that guy still here?"
Horses getting frisky.
Or at least nippy.
"Back off, dude!"
More horseplay going on.
Getting the last nip in
Making up?
"Why won't he go away? He's making me nervous..."
Spotted a ptarmigan nearby. Seems like it is the equivalent of the rabbit in the food chain.
I had stayed still enough for the ptarmigan to decide that I was harmless.
Hay, man...
Alfalfa?
They look like they are gonig to have a meeting.
The village of Sauðanes, to the north of Þórshöfn. The church is now a museum.
Horse contemplating on machines.
I just happened to get a photo of the Langanes Air Station H2-A.
The building with our container apartment. The roof and siding have space for insulation.
Hallway joining the apartments. Really very clever and comfortable.
The mountains to the east. We didn't have time to journey into them, unfortunately
The main farmhouse and the mountains to the west.
The view at breakfast. Lots of colors and fun shapes. Lots of Ikea!
Fun bringing the bits of outside in! iPhone 6 photo, not as good dynamic range as the D800e.
