A visit to the Neon Museum, where old signs from around Las Vegas are gathered.
The museum office and shop is housed in the old office of the La Concha Hotel, moved onto this site.
Nice display made of parts of old signs
And a big shoe out front makes it hard to miss the place
Walking to the back for the restrooms, I get to take a few photos before the tour
Stars from the Stardust Casino are a central reference point for the lot
A lot of the signs aren't neon at all, but big banks of incandescent bulbs.
Must have been a full time job changing them
The sign from the Ugly Duckling car rental agency
A bit more detail of the Ugly Duckling
Many of the signs are in bad shape
Stardust stars again
My only superwide shot. The museum has a one camera/one lens rule. A pity I couldn't use it again.
Bulbs of yesteryear
Maybe this 0 still lights up at night.

Bulbs in the Golden Nugget sign
The Golden Nugget sign is in pretty good shape

Stardust stars overhead
Power consumption by these bulbs really adds up
The regularity and flow is strangely satisfying

Very little left of the glass on the Golden Nugget sign
Must have gotten thrown around in the truck

These signs are a flashback to my early childhood!
Shot at the Neon Museum, Las Vegas
One of a fair number of different styles of motel signs. Another bit from my early childhood.
